Maywood trivia
It was my privilege to emcee the “first annual” Maywood Christian Camp benefit dinner. For the two of you who don’t know, Maywood is a Christian camp located in Hamilton, AL. It began in 1965 and serves thousands of children and others every year in its 10, one week, sessions and many retreats through the year. It’s a grand place, to many of us a little slice of heaven on earth.
The “Mayday” event and it’s surrounding events raised a little over $40,000.00 which will be used to help in replacing an old bath house that has been on the grounds for over 40 years.
I’ve been associated with Maywood for 43 years and love the place deeply. I baptized my first person there, kissed my first girl there, preached my first lesson, taught my first class and held Melanie’s hand for the first time all at Maywood. The night of the dinner, our camp hero, Jeff Goff, asked that I give some camp history as a part of our evening.
Here are the trivia questions - if you can 75% of them I’ll give you a special prize (not sure what yet). Also, add any questions you might come up with in the comments section.
