Up to date...
I’m not exactly sure how to bring everyone up to date or to keep this updated - I’ll requisition your assistant if you don’t mind. As you learn of places open post it in the comments section or send me an email. When I post a new note I’ll let you know via email. If you will forward this link on to other preachers so we can grow this thing and if you are visiting because someone forwarded this to you send me your e-ddress and I’ll add you to the update list.
Now for some of the latest:
Just down the road from us at Spring Meadows is Thompson’s Station. Donald Dark did a great work there for so long. He has retired and they are looking for a new guy. It seems they are pretty early in their search. They’ve got John Vaughn doing their interim. The church has about 200 folks but with the continued growth of this area there should be a lot of potential.
Hermitage in Nashville jut hired Tom Norvell (don’t think he’s any kin to Debbie) from East Brainerd in Chattanooga so that means that pulpit is open. I understand they are heavily associated with Boyd-Buchanan and run about 600 a Sunday.
The Heritage church, another in our general area, has been looking for sometime. They have some good men working with them and I’m not exactly sure what they are looking for, but it seems interesting to me.
I hear that the Otter Creek church in Nashville is looking for a new preacher. They run about 1000 a Sunday and I don’t think I’d offend any of them if I said “they’re out there”.
The Crittenton congregation in Russellville, KY has been looking for a while.
Of course you probably know of Keith Parker’s big plans. He will be stepping into a new role at the beginning of ’09. So that leaves Hendersonville, attendance about 1400, in need of someone to follow Keith - good luck with that! I suspect they might have a interim - either intentional - or not.
I like this - the North Carolina church in Alabama (seriously) is looking! Their man, Don Williams (no the other one), is now working with the children’s home in North Alabama. Hey, this sounds good, an opportunity to live in “the great state”.
Broken Arrow in Oklahoma is looking for a preacher too. That’s about all my friend James told me.
I’ve got 5 to 10 more but I’ll close for now with one that is sure to get your attention. The church in Hawaii is looking! I’m not really interested - but man - I’d like to have a tryout!!!
Have a great day...and post away!
