The Mystery of The Hawk
I’m a little old school. For years, I don’t know how many, but for years every year in the bathrooms at Freed-Hardeman University during the week of lectureships there would appear a handful of a comic type paper called “The Hawk”. Frankly I saw it one, seems like two years tops. I had a friend who said it had been around for years. It was unsanctioned and it was slightly irreverent, it poked fun at every big name speaker on the program and IT WAS HILARIOUS! The drawings were crude and over exaggerated and they would make up names like Guy Woody - it was better than that.
Somewhere, somewhere I have one copy of it. It came and it lasted a while and it went away. I don’t have to this day a clue as to who was responsible for it and I don’t know anyone who does know. It was a very well guarded secret. I’d love to break the mystery. I’d love to have a copy and some history on it.
So, do any of our readers remember it? Any of you have a clue on ANYTHING about it? Any leads? Let’s unravel this mystery.
