Those precious scoops

Well, it’s been about three weeks since the last batch of fresh hot scoops came out of the oven so we have a whole batch of them for you today. The news you need!

Wes Hazel gets the first scoop of the day as he let us know about the Hillsboro congregation (no not that one) near Winchester, TN. This is where Lynwood Mathis has been preaching. They have between 150-175 members. You can find out a little more about it and get contact info at: http://thechurchesofchrist.info/hillsboro/hillsboro.htm

Drew Crosby has been trying to scoop me for months and he gets two in one post today: With M. Shepherd moving to work with Madison, TN the Hermitage looking for a youth minister.

He also told me about the church in Woodward Park in California. This is where Andy Frizzell is the youth minister. They are looking for a pulpit minister - looks like a great work to me: http://woodwardparkchurchofchrist.com/

The church in New Albany, MS I’m told is looking for a new preacher. If you know more about that please comment below. I’ve not been able to find out any more. If you are the preacher there and you’re not leaving...uhhh...sorry :)

Jim Creech, who has been serving as an elder at a congregation over in Murfreesboro, TN, will be going to help the Vultee church in Nashville.

Will Tidwell who the last several years has done a good job for us at Heritage Christian in recruiting will be moving to preach with the church in Hartselle, TN. I suppose we will be looking for someone to fill that role at HCU.

The Millview church in Franklin, TN is looking for a youth minister. It’s a good church and has a special place in my heart as they helped my son, Philip, get his start and cared for he and Laura so well. Ed Slayton is the preacher there and has been there a long time - he’s a great guy to work with. For more info got to: http://mcox.us/millview/index.htm The Millview church has about 200-250 each Sunday.

I love it when people get to “scoop themselves”. That’s the case with our friend Steve Higginbotham. He has lived with, loved and raised his family at the South Green Street church in Glascow, KY. Steve has been there for 20 years and the work has done very well. He will be moving to Karns to work with the church there. If you want to try to follow him :) contact him or the elders. South Green has about 400 in attendance. You can find contact stuff at: http://www.glasgow-coc.org/

I think I posted this one a while back but every once in a while I’m asked to “repost”. the Palisades church in Birmingham (the city I grew up in), AL is looking for a man to follow Tom McClure. The church there has about 150 members. http://palisadesfamily.org/

Finally, the Savannah, TN church will be looking for a man for their pulpit. This has been a great congregation with so many good things going on.

So there you have it - 10 scoops! Enjoy your looking and let me know of omissions or corrections!
