Where have all the good scoops gone?

It’s been a while since I last posted but the reason is because there just isn’t a whole lot popping right now. I have a couple but am waiting for them to finalize before I go public with them. But it’s time to get something out there, so here’s sort of an “in-between” post:
I talked to an old friend today, Judge Foy Guin from down in B’ham. Brother Guin is an elder at the Palisades congregation there. They have such a rich history in my home city but I’d bore you with it. If you want to know more about them today go to: http://www.palisadesfamily.org/ We posted this opening before and they got several responses but they are still looking. I encourage you to check them out.
The Adam’s Avenue congregation in Lebanon, TN is also looking for a new preacher. I can’t seem to find if they have a webpage but their number is (615) 444-2721.

Our friend Andrew Leeper is moving from Crieve Hall to work with the church in Burleson, TX. Andrew’s a great young man, I remember when he used to visit us as a high school student at Granny White and was impressive even at a young age. We are happy for he and his wife Becca. He has been the outreach and involvement minister at Crieve Hall and his leaving presents an opening there. http://www.crievehall.org/

Let me close with a couple of shout outs:

We’ve already mentioned the exciting seminar that is happening THIS weekend (Friday and Saturday) at Mount Juliet encouraging involvement and involvement ministers. The line up and concept is excellent - go to www.equipconference.net. There’s still time for you to come.

Alan Stephens has asked me to tell you about a big effort that is going on this summer in West Virginia. Before I give you the good details let me tell you that if you’d like to help I’m sure Alan would love to hear from you. I had hoped to be a part of this effort but scheduling won’t allow it: “Parkersburg,WV: July 2010. This is a soul winning campaign that involves door-knocking and a gospel meeting. The door-knocking begins on July 22 and ends July 29. The gospel meeting will be held on July 26-July 29. Workers will be coming from Texas, Tennessee, and West Virginia. The following Nashville churches are involved: Concord Rd, Hendersonville, and Mt Juliet. Phil Sanders will speak each night at the gospel meeting. Joe Wells will be speaking to the youth. Chris Walker will be leading the singing. Neil Anderson will MC the event. The gospel meeting will be held at the Parkersburg Field House with over 3,000 seats. The housing and food will be provided by the local Parkersburg churches. We want you!” stephensfour@comcast.net

One more thing you might find interesting, I know I did. www.brotherhoodnews.com is a neat site to keep up with all the news that is news. Randal Matheny has kindly asked me to serve as a correspondent with them. But as you learn of news this is a good place to share it. I RSS’ed the site a good while back and I encourage it.

OK, that’s all for this post. Let me know what you don’t find here and we’ll share the news.
