Time for Some More Scoops
I’ve held off because of a few things that always seem to be “opening” but it is time for a new set of scoops. As always, if you know of something that has not been posted let me hear from you. People who do so are who make this work for us all.
Let’s start with the most fun name we’ve ever listed! The church in Truth of Consequences, NM is looking for a preacher (better not lie on that resume - or any for that matter). Thanks for Phil Sanders one of our chief scoopers for this one. Their preacher, A.C. Morris has retired and moved to “the great state” (if you don’t know where that is you haven’t been listening). If you are interested contact W.G. Miller (575 297-4084 or wmcm1220@bajabb.com for email.
Big announcement coming from Kentucky next week! But I can’t say more.
The Jersey Village congregation is looking. This is such a good church. This is where Mickey Bell preached. Most of you know Mickey passed away about a month ago after a valiant and faithful struggle with cancer. The churches commitment to him through the cancer and his dedication and dogged determination were a joy to watch. I held a meeting there late last year. I pray they will find someone who will continue to bless them and that they can bless. Their website is jvchurchofchrist.org or contact Phil Uhrhan at puhrhan@sbcglobal.net.
The Sturgis church in South Dekota sends this notice which I edited slightly for space sake: “WANT TO LIVE IN GOD’S COUNTRY 11 1/2 months!? Sturgis Church of Christ is seeking a full-time minister after God’s own heart to teach, preach, evangelize, outreach, visit, fellowship, get involved with the community, and work cooperatively with the congregational leadership.
Sturgis is a quaint western town at the north end of the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. (Two weeks of the year the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally invades the town of 7,000 citizens growing to 250,000 visitors) We have 3 elders, 4 deacons and 70 warm friendly family members. We are looking for man who is well grounded in the word and has a supportive family. Applicant should be a self-starter with strong organizational skills. We are looking for someone to help with organize family sponsored activities, devotionals and events for our youth, be involved in (Sunday/Wednesday) classroom teaching, focused on evangelism and motivation. I’m told the Fosterville church at Bellbuckle is looking for a part time preacher. Contact Craig Lynch. http://www.fostervillechurch.org/index.html. The church there has about 70 members.
This scoop from Ron Clayton. The Ripley, MS church is looking for a preacher. They run 250ish on Sunday morning and have a good plant. Ripley is a neat little southern town to live in. Contact James Nunnelly 662 837-4205 (previous man retired).
The Willow church has hired DeWayne Bryant as their associate, but I am told they will still be looking for a pulpit man to start in January. For more info search: http://www.willowcoc.com/
So this is big news too. I think we already reported that Jason Hart is moving to work with the Glendale Road church in Murray, KY. Congrats to him on that - Glendale is such a strong influence and, I believe the largest congregation in Kentucky. That means the Sycamore church is looking. One of the elders there has contacted “The Scoop Blog” and we hope to have more info later, but for now you can go to http://www.sycamorecoc.com/
The Mount Olive church in Live Oak, Florida is looking for a preacher. It is a rural church averaging about 50. If anyone is interested contact Gleene Harrell (esmusgrove@hotmail.com) or 386-362-3166. (John McMath)
Finally, in my old stomping ground in Eva, Alabama they are looking for a preacher. I love that little town and the sweet people there. It is a great place to start - at least they were for Melanie and me. Contact Ron Ryan Ronryan@iglide.net for more info.
Let me know of corrections and all. Thanks for the scoops friends.
