We being this scoop update with the sad news of the passing of our friend and mentor to many William Woodson. He cast a long shadow for a long time. He was a scholar whose love for the Lord, His Body and His Book was evident to all who knew him. Visitation will be Monday from 5 to 7 and Tuesday from 4 to 6. The service will begin at 6 at the Pulaski Street Church of Christ. He will be buried in Jackson, TN. This scoop is in Crimson in brother Woodson’s honor for his Crimson Tide!
I imagine the biggest scoop of the day is that Daniel Hope will be moving to Nashville to work with the great Hillsboro church. He will be leaving the Henderson congregation. They will not only be looking to replace him but also the youth minister, Chuck South is moving to Memphis so they are looking to fill at least two roles.
We mentioned in our last update that Blaine Kelly will be going to Morristown, TN to preach. But have been asked to post that the South Green Street church in Glascow, KY will be looking for an associate minister to fill his role. South Green is a church of about 400 members. Michael Grooms scoops this one -  from Grant Carey, who preaches at the New Deal church of Christ. He says: “This is a great congregation and I have experienced firsthand their willingness to work. This could be a rewarding opportunity for some young man who would like to get some experience.” They are looking for some assistance with the preaching and teaching at New Deal Church of Christ.  They’d like to find some one that may live close to the area who could also assist in evangelism and attend regularly.  The congregation could provide some compensation for the right person. They run about 15 - 20 in attendance but want to grow. Contact Grant Carey (what a name!) by e-mail newdealchurchofchrist@hotmail.com or 615 844-3424.
