Well, we promised a new listing this week. I am waiting for three big scoops to break but it looks like they will be next week, so we’ll go ahead and let you know what we know about NOW:
The Swartz Creek Church of Christ is looking for a pulpit minister to join their efforts to “provide and encourage spiritual growth and maturity for our entire membership at Swartz Creek. We are in the process of remodeling our old worship area into a fellowship hall to give us more flexibility for internal and outreach reaches our community. It’s our desire to provide an environment that recognizes the individual traits that make each person unique, that provides encouragement and support, that involves every individual in the life of the congregation and that encourages a relationship with God through Jesus Christ the Son.”  Swartz Creek has about 300+ members. They have two elders and 13 deacons. They have a united vision in our leadership and a congregation that wants to stay true to God’s word. They have a new auditorium that seats over 700. Mark Aites has been there for 17 years and will be leaving before the first of the year.

This scoop via Miles Cotham. The West Avene congregation in Crossville, TN is looking for a preacher. They have around eighty members. The elders are Joe Eller andWayne Hedgecoth. Bro. Joe Arnold, the former preacher for the McCreary Church of Christ in Whitley City, KY resigned for health reasons and moved to Nashville, TN.  The church is looking for a preacher who is retired and on Social Security.  They are supported by other congregations and are able to partially support a preacher.  If you are interested contact Leland Slaven, 434 Old Bailey Rd., Apt. #15, Whitley City, KY 42653, 606-376-9748, 606-310-6659. They have about 30 members and meet only on Sunday mornings.
