The “I can’t believe this scoop” scoop...
So a quick update cause I know if I don’t post this one I’ll get a boatload of calls and emails trying to scoop one of these.
First up. Last night Billy Smith was introduced as the new preacher at the Henderson congregation. Both he and Roy Sharp are leaving the Estes church to work with Henderson. I know they shared the pulpit at Estes but have not heard the arrangement for them at Henderson. For those of you “keeping score” :), the official scoop on this one goes to my brother, Jeff. With an assist to Rusty Pettus.
Yesterday Ryan Tuten began his work with the Forrest Park church in Valdosta, GA.
The Vesta congregation near Lebanon is looking for preacher. They only have 50 people. They say it is a full time work but that is all I know. Our friend, the “big bird” (Sellers Crain) gets the scoop here.
Finally Guyton Montgomery who is the preacher at Northside congregation in Meridian, MS is leaving after the first of the year to work with the Northwest Florida School of Biblical Studies. So they will be looking for a new preacher to being work on January 1st. Their attendance runs about 60-65 per week. They provide a house plus utilities. They want a family man, who is “sound in doctrine with a good personality”. They want resumes sent to Northside Church of Christ, PO Box 3163, Meridian, MS 39301 Or call Chuck Rowell (601) 416-1220.
The Ivy Point church in Goodlettsville is now open. Their website for info is: http://www.ivypointchurchofchrist.com/
Seems last week was a week of guys who are preaching asking to help get their names out. So here ya go:
Ancil Jenkins (I’ve always called him Uncle Ancil but he’s actually dad’s first cousin) is moving to Clarksville. He is available for “fill-in” preaching for any church in the area. He also would consider interim work and does several series and workshops. You can contact Uncle at ancilj@bellsouth.net
Tim West who most recently has been doing good work with the Heritage congregation is looking for fill-in work. Tim does a good job. You can contact him at timwest212@bellsouth.net.
So you have the scoops. Let me know what I might have left out. I know many of you are praying for my dad. For more details on his condition http://www.dalejenkins.com/Dale_Jenkins/The_Blog_that_Binds/Entries/2010/10/4_Info_about_my_dad.html
