Please, Don't Forget About Jesus

Schedules are ramping up. There is shopping that has to be completed. There are parties to attend. There are family gatherings to make. There are trees to decorate and lights to hang. The stores, the restaurants, and the highways will be busier.

In addition to the busyness that is caused because of the holiday season, there is still ministry that calls. Sermons still must be prepared and preached. Visits still must be made. Meetings still must take place. Bulletins still must be published. Emails still must be answered. Planning still must take place.

Ministry never ends. But, I’m preaching to the choir, right? You already know all of that. You feel the pressure of ministry every day, as well as added stress of the holidays. Nobody has to tell you how difficult these days can potentially be.

May I just share with you a reminder that has been weighing heavy on my heart in recent days? Whether you plan to preach about Jesus and even talk about His birth during December is up to you. We all are blessed to be able to choose what we will proclaim from our pulpits during this season.

Regardless of your choice, may I urge you, may I plead with you, don’t forget about Jesus!

Please, don’t forget to allow the light of Christ to shine as you go about your work in ministry.

Please, don’t forget to treat your wife and other family members with the love of Christ.

Please, don’t forget to take the opportunity to offer people who are thinking about Jesus during this season, the chance to learn more about Him.

Please, don’t forget to grow in your love for Christ as you seek to love even those who are difficult.

Please, don’t forget about Jesus!
