It's Easy to Forget

“For God so loved the world…” We know in our head what it says. We even keep it close to our hearts because of the comfort it provides. We quote it often.

But, life happens. Yes, life even happens to ministers. We spend hours each week with our head in the Word and other books preparing messages to deliver.

We visit hospitals, retirement homes, those who have visited our assemblies, and members who are struggling.

We preach funerals, perform weddings, preside over meetings, and pray over events.

We minister to the hurting, hopeless, helpless, and those who have been harmed by life.

We energize, equip, encourage, and evangelize.

We support, spend time with, and show love to our wife. We play with and pray with our children.

We try to find time to rest, recreate, renew, and restore ourselves.

We tell everyone we can everything we know about the love of Jesus.

When life happens, here is what becomes easy for us to forget. This is what I hope you will remember this week as you are about the Father’s business.

Jesus loves YOU. He cares deeply about YOU. He wants what is best for YOU.

He gave His life for YOU. He wants YOU to enjoy the abundant life. He is YOUR advocate with the Father. He approaches the Throne of God in YOUR behalf.

Preacher, please don’t forget that His heart and his mind is always on YOU. YOU are valuable to Him. YOUR life is meaningful to Him.

YOU are a co-heir with Him. YOU are a co-worker with Him in the Kingdom. He is thankful for all YOU do to serve others, to reach others, and to glorify Him.

May His richest blessings and His comfort be on YOU in everything you do for Him.
