Find That Person

Find That Person. Jeff and I do not reveal who writes what for 4R or our weekly Prayers for Preachers, some of you pick up on who writes them by certain written verbal cues. This one you’ll know, I, Dale, wrote because I want to reference one of the favorite things Jeff says. Jeff says “there are three people every preacher needs in their life.” I agree with him, but as we approach the beginning of a New Year and a new decade (I know it’s actually the end of the old decade), I was thinking about someone else you need to recruit to your team as a minister. Do you have someone in your life that challenges you to go further, to be the best you can be, to dream higher, to be more? I hope you’ll seek out people who will encourage, you support you, listen to you, build you up when you are down - people who are “for” you. If you are going to survive in ministry you need that, but you also need someone who will challenge you to be more and better for the Kingdom. As you look toward 2020, I hope you will seek out those people. They will in their own way help you to not quit.
