Good Men!

It was a blessing a great encouragement to preach to a building full of preachers tonight. They were from many places around the world. Several of them are men you would recognize immediately. Their names are “household” words among preachers. These men are seasoned champions of the faith and they have blessed tens of thousands of God’s people. 

Some of these men were much younger. While some of these men would not be as readily recognized, they also are champions for God. They are growing in their knowledge of God’s Word, and as they do, they bring countless others along who also are growing in their faith.

Every one of the men gathered in that building tonight have some things in common. Every one of us are imperfect men. We are striving to be more like our Master, but we all fall short.

Each of these men love the Lord, they are passionate about preaching the Good News, they love people, and they are good men. Not just good preachers, but good men.

If you are a preacher and you are reading this, I hope you will never forget that you are a part of a very special fraternity. There are many who have joined this unique society of men.

We all have burdens to bare, and we all have heartaches to share. We need to lean on one another. There is no one who will understand your life quite like another preacher.

We are blessed. Blessed to be able to share the glorious Gospel with others, blessed to be a part of some of the most monumental days in the lives of God’s people, and blessed to have one another as we journey life’s path.

When you bow your head this week, thank God for the blessing of being a part of a special group of good men! May God bless you richly in the coming days.
