It was my privilege recently to spend time with several European preachers. While talking with a handful of these beautiful men of God, it was clear that some are working in extremely difficult places. One of the brothers said to me, “It isn’t always easy.”
While preachers in some countries, like America, may not have it as difficult as preachers in other countries, such as Albania, there are days when it isn’t always easy. Many possible factors can create those kinds of days.
These could include personal physical concerns or physical issues of someone in our family, internal family problems, financial worries, or even spiritual concerns. They could also include struggles with church leaders, co-workers, and people who are a part of the church family.
Any or all of these can potentially make our lives more difficult. But, brothers, it doesn’t make it impossible. It doesn’t mean we need to throw in the towel. The big question is, how do we make it through the most trying times? It’s not the only solution.
Lean on the Lord and His people. Solomon understood our need for the Lord during difficult days when he said that we should not lean on our own understanding but allow the Lord to direct our steps.
In Revelation 1:9, John informs the first-century Christians that he is their brother and fellow partaker in tribulation, the Kingdom, and endurance. This is a wonderful reminder that whatever we are dealing with in our lives, and no matter how difficult it can be, we are not alone. Praise God that He is with us and that He has called His people to walk alongside us. Remember, my brothers, you are not alone.
