The World Has to Have More
4K format, Smart Phone, 5G, Wearable technology, www, email, texting, GPS, EV’s, AI, VR, Cyber-security, crypto-currency, bitcoin, cloud computing: Hit the rewind button 15 years and none of us would have a clue what any of these mainline devices and terms were. Yet odds are you’ve heard or used two-thirds of them in the last week.
The world keeps changing and the rapidity with which it is spinning seems to be escalating. Today’s shade-tree mechanic has to be a computer wiz and last generations MIT Valedictorian couldn’t get in with the knowledge he left there with today.
Isn’t it good to be a preacher? As tech replaces complete fields of work and as whole industries are being swept away. As advancement proves yesterday’s knowledge obsolete. We are secure. The Word and the truth of it will not change. The church and the design of it will endure. The Faith and the need for it will not diminish.
AI will demand more energy. EV’s will demand more battery capacity. The internet will demand more mainframes. Cell phone advancements will demand more towers. The Cloud will demand more data centers.
But in “our market,” “…now endures these three, faith, hope, and charity…” People will continue to need a listening ear, a caring touch, a tender heart, a compassionate work, a kind smile. And, Jesus. As our world gets more complicated we get to major in the thing they crave the most. The world has to have more of what we can have the most of!
So, brother, Don’t Quit! Isn’t it good to be God’s Ministers?
