Make this the year!

It’s January 12 and you’ve already broken most of your New Year’s resolutions at least once - that is if you even remember what they were. Oh yeah, something about eating better, spending wiser, working harder and praying more - that about cover it?

Since those are the same ones basically that you’ve had every year of your adult life let me toss a new approach your way.

How about making this the year that you grow up? Here’s a starter list, I’m sure you can add more to it. Make this the year that you...

...not take things personally
...not read into everything something more than is there
...not look to be critical
...not gossip (yes you do!)
...not react to quickly (like you did when I said you gossip)
...check your facts out before responding in anger to an email (or a blogpost :))
...forgive others as quickly as you wish they’d forgive you
...let someone off the hook for no reason at all (it’s called grace)

...follow through on the fact - Bible study is the way to grow spiritually. So start reading it, at least a little every day. Your kids will follow the example you set. Now, just set a good one!
