Scoop Away
It’s been a while but here are the latest scoops I can share:
First a few places that have been filled. Ashby Camp reports that the Mesa church in Arizona hired Terry Singleton from Sunset in Miami. The Midway congregation in Jasper has hired Mark Howell. Bob Payne is moving to work with the church in Henderson, Texas and according to Westley Hazel Edd Sterchi is moving to work with the congregation in Jackson, MO.
With these moves that opens some other jobs so here we go on the merry-go-round:
With Bob Payne moving to Henderson that opens the pulpit in Huntsville, TX.
Mark moving to Midway will mean that the Alamo church in Tennessee is looking. It’s a church with a great history.
Is it just me or does this seems strange? Henderson, no not Tennessee, Texas. Huntsville, no not Alabama, Texas. Alamo, oh, I got it Texas. No not Texas, Tennessee :)
Doug Burleson tells me that their associate J.D. is moving to Searcy so they are looking for an associate. This is the great Goodwood church in Baton Rouge, LA. The role includes some preaching, teaching as well as an opportunity to continue your education at LSU or New Orleans Seminary. The church has about 300 members, one of the largest in LA. They’ve been a leader in the hurricane relief work. They will be taking resume through the end of January. And, hey, you’d get to work with Doug...and I can tell you first hand...there will never be a dull moment! Call him at (225) 270-5296 or email him at doug@goodwoodchurch.org for more info.
The Collinsville church in Bassett, VA is looking. That scoop is from Gary Hampton at ETSOP&M. Contact him for more info.
The church in Harrisburg, IL, a congregation of about 80-90 is looking for a minister.
Belpre, Ohio, according to Martin Pyle is looking for a preacher, but that’s all I know about it.
