The latest and grea...well, at least the latest

Time for some new scoops:

The church in Tifton, GA is looking for a preacher. That scoop compliments of Dan Jenkins.

Fred Mayberry resigned at Fairview last Wednesday night. I’m told that Fairview is not rushing but the pulpit is open there.

Word on the street is that the 10th Street congregation in Opelika, AL is looking but I’ve not confirmed that yet.

Buck Hall, who preached in Vancleave, MIssissippi passed away in February. They loved him a great deal there but are now having to find someone as their new evangelist. They’d would like a married man with school aged children. They typically run a little under 100 on Sunday mornings. There are three elders and three deacons. Here is a couple of lines from one of their elders: “The Vancleave church believes in the power of the gospel rather than the wisdom of man, has a loving and unselfish spirit, willing workers, a good rapport with the community, and heavy involvement in evangelistic outreach at home and abroad.  We are known for our benevolent efforts and our love for one another.  We believe in the power of prayer, and the Lord continues to bless us richly.” Send recent sermon tapes or DVD and resume to: Earl Kenney, elder Earl-Kenney@CableOne.net 228-219-4642 (cell)

Finally a note about some of the ower of Phil Slate: Phil wrote a HANDBOOK ON MISSIONS FOR LOCAL CHURCHES for the Missions Resource Network of Dallas.  It costs $15 and embodies principles he has been teaching local churches for over twenty-five years.  This work could help Missions Committees, or those who take the lead in missions. It will enhance their work. Contact Phil at cpsmissions@gmail.com to purchase one or more or to find out more about this good work.

If you have any more info or scoops let me hear from you.
