There's an App for This

Thanks to my friend, Tyler Brassfield, we now have a “Thoughts From the Mound” App.  Tyler is a genius when it comes to creating apps. He has created a number of church and church related apps.  He is knowledgeable, creative, and very helpful.  On top of all that he is very easy to work with. If your home congregation is interested in learning more about an app you can check out Tyler’s outstanding work at www.316apps.com or I will be happy to supply you with his phone number or email address.

For Lewisville members we have a church app that you can download at the app store by searching Lewisville Church of Christ.  You can find out interesting information about the church, download sermons, etc. Tyler tells me that we are over 400 downloads in a relatively short time.

If you own an I-Phone or I-Pad you can download the “Thoughts From the Mound” app by searching the app store for “JeffAJenkins,” or “Thoughts From the Mound.”  The picture above portrays what the app will look like.

Here’s what Tyler says you can do with the “Thoughts” app. “While in the app you can read your recent articles and post them to Facebook, or email the entire article to a friend or just the link to the article. You can view speaking engagements and send those via email or post to Facebook and also listen to sermons and email the link to the sermons or post the link to sermons on Facebook.

Also here is the link you can post for people to view the app in a web browser and it will have the option to download in iTunes on their computer.http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jeffajenkins-com-thoughts/id391929827?mt=8

I am indebted to Tyler for his work. Our goal with the App is the same as our goal with the blog. We have two primary goals. One is to encourage Christians in their daily walk with God.  The other is to encourage Preachers, Elders, and other Church Leaders in the work they are doing for the Lord.

ON A MORE PERSONAL NOTE: This week Laura and I became grandparents for the first time. Evie Leigh Scott was born Tuesday afternoon in Norman, Oklahoma. She weighed 7lbs., 15 oz., and is twenty inches long. She is doing very well, along with her mom, Amanda, and her dad, Drew.

Someone asked me yesterday if it was better being a grand dad or a dad? That is a tough call. They are both extremely special. We are all thrilled. We are thankful for and humbled by the many expressions of kindness and love  that have been sent our way.  Thank you for your kind thoughts and your prayers.

Dear Father, thank you for the many opportunities we have in our day to spread the Word to the world around us. May we use every available means and method to teach the unsearchable riches of our Lord. Thank You, dear God for the blessing of family and the richness of new life.  May we always remember that every good gift and every perfect gift comes from above. In Jesus Name, Amen.
