From the FHU Lectureships
At one of my favorite places on earth - the FHU Lectureships. There are many reasons why, but first is getting to see so many dear people that I love and respect and getting to just hang out with them. But it's a "scoop fest"! So here ya go and remember, share these blog with others (if you are a "first-timer" sent me a note and I'll keep you posted). If you know of openings I've not mentioned on here, I'd love to share them - dale@edge.net
Stephen Kelly has accepted the pulpit job at Main Street in Mt. Pleasant, TN. He will begin working with them on April 1st. It's like going home for him. He worked with Sandy Hook in Mt. Pleasant for 6 years as the Youth Minister. This means the Austinville congregation in Decatur, AL is looking for a new Associate minister. I love Austinville. They average 325-350 on Sunday morning. Mark Posey is the pulpit minister. http://www.austinvillecoc.org/

The elders have a minimum set of expectations for the individual who will serve as minister to meet the needs of the family at Yorba Linda (CA).
Of utmost importance is someone who is sound in the Word, who is willing to speak where the Bible speaks and be silent where the Bible is silent.
The individual should not be rooted in tradition for the sake of tradition, but must not seek change for the sake of change.
Adhering to the revealed Word is not negotiable.
A minimum of 8 years of preaching experience is desired, with a degree from a reputable Christian university or sound school of preaching preferred. Demonstrated experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
This individual must be able to communicate effectively with the broad spectrum of members at Yorba Linda, from young to old, and from high school educated individuals to those with postgraduate degrees.
The Jackson Street Church of Christ has existed for over 80 years, and attendance is approximately 180 on Sunday mornings. We desire to be effective and involved in ministering to the community; we want to support a minister who will make disciples – preaching, baptizing, and teaching – and help us to grow in that regard as well. The congregation also supports a campus & youth minister who leads a campus ministry at Southern Arkansas University and directs our youth ministry.
Interested candidates should send the following to the church office:
•Application letter •Resume listing past experience and education •At least 3 references
Additional may be requested from finalists.
