Today's "scoops" start with some news that is sad to us. Growing up we always called dad's first cousin, Ancil, Uncle Ancil. He's every bit a Jenkins. Classic nose, smile and preacher. Ancil is one of the finest church history men we know of. His wife, Elaine, passed away Monday morning at the Clarksville Hospital. She had been in declining health for a number of years. In every encounter I had with her she was kind and a faithful spouse and Christian. We grieve with Ancil and their son, Allan, who preaches at the Hidden Valley church in Houston, TX. The picture to the right is of Ancil and Elaine (sitting) and their family.

The Church Street congregation has filled both their pulpit role and youth minister role. The youth minister is Chad Landman and, I'm told the pulpit is going to be filled by Kyle Bolton (thanks Jeff).

Along a similar line, while we do not often post this sort of information, Ray Frizzell, Jane's father-in-law (Tim's dad, Andy's granddad) has resigned as an elder at Crieve Hall. He has a long and effective service. He was an elder there for nearly 40 years and a grand influence in the Nashville area.

The congregation in Clewiston, Florida on the west side of Lake Okeechobee is looking for a preacher. The congregation was started in the 1950's and grew to a membership of 60+. Right now they have speakers come from Palm Beach Lakes and West Broward congregations on Sunday morning for Bible study and worship. They need someone who is outgoing and wants to do personal work. They would prefer that he is married. They have a furnished preacher's home: three bedroom, two bath with a large car port, close to schools. The person would probably need to bring some of their own support until they grow to the point they can support him fully. Sunday average attendance is 7-15. Our own Andy Miller is leaving Spring Meadows to become the youth minister at the Southern Hills congregation. Andy came on board here four years ago and has done an outstanding job. He is a very dear friend. He is leaving on the best of terms and I trust he and Jennifer will do a great job with the good church there.
