First off, if you read this before Tuesday let us be thankful for those who sacrificed for our freedom. This country has been for 200 nearly years a place where God's People have had the freedom to speak of Him and His Word freely and from this land the Word has been sent forth to millions of others. The free enterprise and self-governing of this land has given us the wealth that many have used to help send that Word forth. Only one Kingdom will survive forever. If the Kingdom of America dies tomorrow it will have been a blessing to many lives...AND God's People will continue to go forward until the Lord returns. Having traveled to nearly 30 countries, I am thankful to be an American, but I pledge my allegiance to and am of "another Kingdom" first! Now for the Scoops...
Ronnie Missildine is leaving Central in Dalton, GA so he and his wife can be nearer their children and grandchildren in retirement. He has been at Central for 11 years. Mark Posey excitedly reports that the Austinville elders have hired, Joshua Posey (Mark's son), as the Summer Youth Intern. He will be working with the youth and helping Mark until he goes to Faulkner in the Fall.
The Bellevue congregation has hired Tom Riley to work with them. Tom is the son of Barclay and preached in middle Tennessee before moving to Arizona to help plant a church there. That congregation is looking for a preacher. Read about it at http://canyonchurch.org/.
Nathan Pirtle has accepted the youth minister position at Central in Mcminnville TN. Nathan graduated from Freed-Hardeman this month.
