Tasty Scoops...

We've got some good scoops for this posting: I'm very excited that at Spring Meadows we announced this morning our new youth minister.  Scott Bond, JR will being his work with us on August 1. Naturally we're very excited at SM.  Scott has done a great work at Martin, TN and we are thankful to that good church for helping him grow.  Obviously they will be looking for a new youth ministry: http://martinchurchofchrist.org/

Pulaski Street in Lawrenceburg hired Joe Williams to be their new pulpit minister.  Joe goes to Martin from Spring Valley in Tuscumbia, AL.  For more on that congregation go to: http://www.springvalleychurchofchrist.com/

Tom Boyette sends this info from Joe Blackburn.  The congregation in Dublin Georgia is looking for a full time preacher. Dublin in 50 miles east of Macon on I-16 toward Savannah.  The present preacher is leaving on good terms. For more info contact Joe at Joemac1@bellsouth.net

This is more of a report than a scoop.  The Highland Heights congregation in Smyrna where Wayne Cornwell has been for a number of years announces that he is becoming full time in January 2012.  I enjoyed doing a leadership retreat with Josh and Will and some of the leaders there this past weekend.  The church there is growing. They have gone from about 350 to over 650 in about 15 years.

Eddie Boggess gets the "self-scoop" of the week. He reports that he has accepted the pulpit minister position at Cedar Grove Church of Christ in Andalusia, AL.  He is leaving La Fayette Church of Christ in La Fayette, GA.  La Fayette is a congregation of 90-100.  They have 2 (soon to be 3) elders.  Their website is www.lafayettegacoc.com.

The Western Hills congregation in west Nashville is looking for a preacher:  http://www.westernhillschurch.org/

Tony Lawerance helped with the scoop that the New Hope congregation in Readyville is looking. Howard Knox is stepping down but will continue as an elder. The number is: (615) 563-8878

Derrick Coble at West Sparta is moving to Lake City FL so West Sparta is looking. http://www.westspartacoc.com/ - thanks Tony.

I was told early this week that the LaVergne congregation is not looking for a preacher at this point.

That's all I can tell tonight...let me know if I've missed anything.
