Lots of New Scoops for You

The first scoop for this week comes from Robbie Mackenzie - Paul Meredith of Watterson Trail Church of Christ sends this link to me about a youth minister opening....http://wtcoc.org/trail-mix/38-blog/74-youth-minister-search. Tim Gunnells will be moving to work with the church in Canyon, AZ (http://canyonchurch.org/), which means the church in Athens, TN will be looking for a new preacher.

The Woodson chapel congregation announced on Sunday that Wesley Walker will become the new preacher beginning immediately.  He has been the youth minister there. The church at Woodson will be looking for a new youth minister.

The Smithville Church of Christ Smithville MS About 60 members is looking for a preacher. For more information please contact Philip Hathcock, 662.315.6853 cell 662.256.2382.

This note is from the elders of the Green Forest congregation. “We are a congregation of approximately 140 members; sound eldership; youth activities; outreach efforts; needing a full-time pulpit minister.  The elders and deacons have a hope for a young man; married (possibly with small children); because we do not have a paid youth minister and can afford approximately $45,000 annual compensation presently.  Nice building; no outstanding debt.

Poplar Bluff is a town of around 18-20,000 population; good things happening in our community.  We hope for a man with religious education; church of Christ college or preaching school; with a smile on his face, who loves preaching the truth in love; loves the Lord, love His Word; loves his wife and children; loves the church. (One of our members is a brother-in-law of Josh Ketcham).”

The following scoop comes from our friend Steve Johnson.

“We are seeking an associate minister, 50% of the role devoted to our youth and 50% devoted to teaching/preaching/other typical preacher duties. We have about 300-325 attendance, 4 elders, 13 deacons, and an already very active youth group.

The following scoop comes from my good friend, Terry Ware who is an elder for the Jackson Street congregation in Monroe, LA. “Jeff, as you know we are searching for a pulpit minister for our congregation. This is due to Don's retirement.”

Jackson Street is a congregation of 300 plus members. a. 200 Adults b. 100 Young People (Ages infant to high school)

We are heavily involved in Mexico Missions, supporting five men. We have oversight of the Spanish Mission Ministry. We are the sponsoring church for the Pan American Lectureship. There is at present, three elders and eight deacons.
