The scoop front has gone a little quiet but we have some for you fresh off the press today: Glen VanSandt is leaving Ozark, AL to go to Palisaides in B'ham, AL. Glen was in Ozark for 12 years and says it is a good church with three elders. They are 125-150 on Sunday mornings and offer a good salary. The contact is Don Holloway who is an elder 334.237.0675.

The church in Tompkinsville has hired Steven Hunter as their preacher. He is leaving New Concord, KY, so they will be looking. The elders there are looking for a new minister. The church in Scott County, in the rolling hill of Kentucky is looking for a preacher. They are a "loving, family-oriented congregation."  They are located about 12 miles north of Lexington.   Georgetown has been experiencing record population growth due in part to the Toyota plant there.  The church in Scott County is a mixture of all ages with an average Sunday attendance of about 70.  In 2004, they expanded their building and now seat 250.  They do not currently have an eldership, but are actively pursuing the establishment of one and looking for leadership in this endeavor. Their idea candidate would be approximately 30-50 years in age and have at least 5 years experience working with an eldership.  He should "desire to be Christ-minded, whom those in the church and community can look to as a leader and example.  Enthusiasm and energy are key characteristics that the congregation is looking for along with good communication skills.  The candidate should be married with children and have a wife who is committed to the work of the Church." Taft Ayers is leaving the Milam, TN congregation to work with the Peachtree City congregation in Atlanta (where Aubrey Johnson is the preacher). He was the outreach minister at Milam and will be at Peachtree as well.
