A little bit of fun and a little bit of news

Sometimes my blog just gets way to serious and I need to step back and just share some news and other stuff. 2.  I think I first heard of the little town of Centerville nearly 35 years ago.  One of my former elders in Hamilton had lived there and loved the work of Paul Rogers.  A couple of years ago Bryan McAlister went there to be the preacher and we've become great friends (but don't tell him I said that).  Then I got to know Chris Webb. Chris, the YM there, is an awesome guy.  A few weeks ago some of you no doubt saw the sad news that right before their Christmas one of the students recorded 100 of the Juniors and Seniors saying two words of profanity. Well the video, even more sadly, went viral.  Well, Chris started a project last week to respond to the Youtube video.  It is wonderful!!!!! The goal is to match the hits that the other video got, close to 100,000.  It's a lofty goal, but YOU can help make it happen. 3. Some of you in Middle Tennessee remember Tim Brown whose son, Caleb, was injured by a rock that was pushed from the top of Fall Creek Falls, while they were visiting the park. Caleb spent the next 2 months in hospitals, and then the family spent the next year intensively working with him to teach him how to walk again and re-learn everything. Well Caleb is doing remarkably well.  BUT in the intervening time Tim had to stop preaching for a while and now is ready to re-enter full time ministry.  If you are interested in talking to him here is his email address: browntm1@gmail.com

FURTHER on Tim. He is trying to get a business going that provides txt mss (text messaging) solutions.  Among other things he can for a pretty low price help you with sending text messages to larger groups of folks. He also does other mobile marketing solutions. It wouldn't take me long to get lost talking about this stuff - Sooo...here ya go. If you, your congregation or your business would like to know more I'm sure he would love to hear from you - help a brother out.
