Time to play the Scoop Game

Are you ready for the latest? OK, but first,  if you have not signed up for the BETTER conference be sure and do it TODAY! Time's a wasting: http://preachbetter.eventbrite.com/. It's next week. I'm shooting for 100 and at 60, help me out if you can.  If money is an issue let me know. Now to the news...

First scoop of the day goes to Robert Jefferies who reports that the Bremen church in Georgia is looking for a Pulpit Minister.  Contact elder is Chris Stephenson.  Their minister, Sydney White, has become the new director of the Northwest Florida School of Bible Studies. You can learn more about them HERE.

A little more info on last post.  A few folks didn't quite get the last one on the Ashville Road church in Leeds, Alabama.  Neil Hillis is the youth minister and they are looking for a new YM. Drew Kizer is NOT leaving, But if you are interested in the YM job send resumes to drewkizer@windstream.net or to 1401 Ashville Road, Leeds, AL.

The Gulf Shores congregation is looking for a YM.  Sned resumes to thekinglives@yahoo.com. Ray Reynolds the minister is leading the search along with the elders and deacons.

The Millview congregation has hired Jeremy Hall to fill the position they were looking for.

This scoop from Chris Smith (who wanted to get credit for it a little too much :)! Just giving you are hard time Chris).  Larry Sawyer is leaving Okolona Church of Christ in Louisville, KY. Web stuff: http://www.okolonachurchofchrist.com/ - Larry was there 18 years and you can read his resignation statement HERE (about page 3).

The Hohenwald congregation is looking for a new preacher.  Keith Clark, who has been the preacher is going to Tyrone Georgia to preach and teach at Point University.  Here's the perfunctory website: http://hohenwaldchurchofchrist.com/

Big personal scoop news from Mark Littleton. He will begin work the the Athens church in Athens, Tennessee in June. That means the church in Opp, AL, will be looking.  Let me let you hear it in Mark's own words: "I’ll just tell you, I love this church...I just wanted to tell you a little bit about the church in Opp. It’s a friendly, loving, close-knit, balanced group with an average attendance of 100-105.  We have 5 great elders, and in the 11 ½ years that I’ve been here, I’ve not have one “bad” elders meeting.  Not one.  They love me, they’re not on me all the time, they trust me to do what needs to be done, and they’re open to new ways of doing things. They are committed to taking care of their preacher financially...There are a good number of young couples and little ones – just a great group to be around.  And the city of Opp, even though it’s a small town that has its struggles, is a tremendous place to raise a family.  The schools are good, the people are friendly, and crime is low. If anyone is interested, feel free to e-mail me at mhlittleton@gmail.com with any questions, or for further information... I want to see the right man come..."  Sounds wonderful Mark. And God bless you brother.

And another one (that TWO this time) for Robert Jefferies  This one is from the Memphis area.  The "Ellendale" church is looking for a new minister.  Mike Mays has preached there for the past 10 years or so.  Their website address is www.ellendalechurchofchrist.org.

And that's the scoop. As always let us know of omissions or corrections.
