California Scoopin'

I’ll be heading out to California for a couple of days this week for the most excellent ReCharge conference, but before I go let’s try to do some scooping. As always, this is a voluntary service, so I ask your patience with mistakes. Let me know and we WILL correct them. Also, we need your submissions to make it fly. Thanks for so many and such great help.

We’ve mentioned that the Bellevue congregation is looking for a Youth Minister.  They’ve ask us to share some more information about that work there.  Their new website is: Bellevue-church.com. Here’s their own verbiage: “Bellevue is searching for a Youth Minister to lead our active and growing youth group. The youth group has more than 55 members from grades 7 through 12. They are involved in service, mission trips, youth conferences, retreats, devotionals and summer camp. For more information and a detailed job description visit our web site at http://bellevue-church.com/bellevue-church-of-christ-youth-minister-job/ or contact Robert Ferrell at Robertferrell2774@gmail.com.”

The Oxford congregation in Oxford, Alabama is looking for a preacher. You can find their contact information on their website: http://www.oxfordchurchofchrist.com/

The Central congregation in Winterhaven, Florida is looking for a preacher. Their longtime preacher Ricky Epps is retiring.  Contact: http://www.wh-churchofchrist.org/

The church in Yucaipa, CA  is looking for a minister. This man would share the pulpit with Dustin Campbell and work side by side with him.  The congregation would like a man who has experience and has a family. They have three elders and attendance is around 120 on Sunday mornings. It is in Southern California.  Contact Dustin for more information (909) 742-2472 or send resumes to 33981 Yucaipa Blvd, Yucaipa CA 92399.

Eric Gray gets the scoop on the Regency congregation in Mobile hiring Andrew Howell from Germantown in Memphis to be their new youth minister.  No word yet from Germantown but I imagine they wlll be looking for a youth minister.

Robert Lambert is leaving Main Street in Milan to work with the church in Humboldt.

Larry Pruitt has retired from the pulpit at Northside in Hanceville, AL. Ken Forrest will be the new preacher at Northside. Cullman's number is 256-734-2172.

A newsy self scoop from our beloved Matt Cook: As we mentioned recently he will be teaching BIble at Freed-Hardeman but he has also accepted half of the pulpit at the Stantonville church (stay with me now).  This is the church that he worked with for about 4 and a half years before he headed to Peru.  What great news...but there is more. The “other half” of the pulpit will be filled by his dad, Randy!  Matt will be doing most of the preaching and Randy will handle much of the ministry work.  His dad was the preacher at Oakhurst in Farmington, West Virginia.  That’s the congregation he grew up in! He has preached there for 20 years and serves as one of the elders. He’s leaving on very good terms. And the other elders have asked him to stay on as an elder until he leaves (in June) and help with the search for a new pulpit minister. It is a church of around 100 and will have 3 elders after brother Randy leaves. Interested? Call Randy Cook at (304) 825-6434.

That about does it for this week. Have a great one! And keep us posted on what we missed.
