Scoops, Scoops and Big News

We've held off for a couple of big scoops but looks like they are going to be a while longer yet.  So we'll go ahead and post what we can. BUT FIRST..big news. The Jenkins Institute is announcing here, today, for the first time that we are beginning our first podcast!  The Jenkins Institute Podcast will launch next Tuesday (July 9) at 10am CST.  You will be able to tune in via TalkShoe or subscribe through iTunes.  We can't wait to share more about it, so be ready next week as we get started.

The Maud congregation in Cherokee Alabama has hired Jordan Gray. Jordan will enter Heritage Christian University in the fall.

Andrew Itson will begin working with the Robertsdale church in south Alabama in August.  This is the church that Slate Moore worked with for several years.

The University Church of Christ in Montgomery, Alabama is looking for a full-time College Minister to direct its campus outreach efforts on the campus of Faulkner University and other local colleges.  Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree in Bible, Ministry or a related area, and experience is preferred. The University Church, a 750 member congregation, is located adjacent to the campus of Faulkner University in Alabama's capitol city. Additional information can be obtained by contacting Scott Latham, Elder & Search Committee Chairman, at slatham@alabamabankers.com.

The Echo Lake church in Westfield, NJ is look for a preacher.  They are a church of about 60 members and according to the note they sent us are "searching for an experienced, energetic, mission-minded minister who can help us grow." They are about 30 miles from New York City in Union County.  They would like a man with 5-10 years of pulpit experience and a Bible degree or fomr a preacher-training program. Other qualities that are important to Echo Lake: • Counseling experience (formal training is a plus). • Able to lead in involvement and equipping of members.  • Compassion for the emotionally, physically, and spiritually weak. • Organizational skills. • Married, preferably with children. Jeff Johnston will continue to worship with the Ethridge, TN church but has left the youth ministry position there.  At this point they are not looking to replace that position.

The Bellevue church in Nashville, TN has hired Blake McCaskell to work in their youth ministry role.  Blake has been the youth minister at the Oliver Creek church in Memphis, TN.

Darrin Moorehouse scoops himself. He will be working with the Highway 30 church in Florida.  The the current minister Josh Clevenger will be going to the Rockmart, GA congregation.
