GERMANY: Because of the distance involved I'm including the whole post from the pulpit coming available in Kaiserslautern Germany.
The congregation is made up mostly of American military members and their families. John Phillis has fulfilled his 3 year agreement and is moving back to the states. Here is their info as they list it: "Due to the unique nature of working with the military, and especially in a foreign country, a rather specific "preacher profile" for the position has been developed. The position will be available in the May 2014 time frame. Send a brief resume and state your interest to: info@ktowncoc.org
PREACHING POSITION PROFILE - KAISERSLAUTERN CHURCH OF CHRIST, KAISERSLAUTERN GERMANY The Kaiserslautern Church of Christ, located in Kaiserslautern Germany, is seeking a full-time pulpit evangelist. The position is available in the May – June 2014 timeframe. The Kaiserslautern (or K-town) church of Christ has a 60-plus year history, dating back to the post-WWII era. There has been a congregation meeting in K-town, uninterrupted, since that time. For many years, there was a both a German-speaking congregation, along with a separate English-speaking congregation, co-located and using the same building and facilities. However, approximately 15 years ago, the German-speaking congregation ceased meeting. At the present, only one, unified congregation meets. While all of the services are conducted in English, there are a number of German nationals, all with adequate English language skills, who are active members of the congregation. Kaiserslautern is located in the Rhineland Pfalz area of southwest Germany. There is a large U.S. Military presence in this area – a military community of approximately 40K in number. Therefore, the K-town congregation, with a current membership of about 90, is comprised mostly of American military – Army, Air Force and Navy all currently represented – and their families. There are also some U.S. government employees in the congregation, along with the afore mentioned German nationals. The congregation owns the building where they meet, is financially sound, debt-free and self-supporting. At the present time, the congregation does not have elders. The K-town congregation is seeking a man who is well grounded in the Word, who is mature, preferably a preaching school graduate and with some fulltime preaching experience. He must be married, and it is important that he either be retired from the military, or at least have some prior military service. It is also important for him to be able to relate across a wide spectrum of ages, spiritual maturity levels, varied backgrounds within the Lord’s church and with those who are culturally diverse. Since there are currently no elders, the candidate should be one who is self-motivated and governed, and also one who functions well with minimal guidance and direction. Although not required, someone with family and marriage counseling training and/or experience would be a plus. Also, experience living/working overseas along with some German language skills, are desirable attributes. Due to the difficulties and expense associated with schooling, we are seeking an older couple without school-aged children. The K-town congregation is able to offer a reasonable monthly salary and a good living compensation package, to include limited relocation expenses.
That's what I've got tonight. Send any more info please.
