There have been more scoops in the past three months than I can ever remember. With today's post it makes for over 30 in the last three weeks. Thanks to all who help others by sharing what you know of. So here we go... NV: The North Virginia Street congregation in Reno is searching for Pulpit Minister/Evangelist. Their previous minister is moving to work with the church in Parker, Colorado. Website: http://www.nvschurchofchrist.org/. Their building is about 4 miles north of downtown Reno. Sunday attendance is about 75 to 100. They have two elders. There is a weekly ladies’ class on Tuesdays and once a month on Thursday evenings. There is a men’s class every other Friday evening to study fundamentals of the church, Biblical doctrine, special topics of interest, and general questions posed by men who are new Christians. The Minister they want generally will be: A student of the Bible. A scholarly approach to study, not superficial, such that everyone can grow stronger from the lessons presented. A desire for evangelism. An attitude of humility that is the result of being a servant of God that can be seen in their life without words. An ability to lead and to work with the elders and other men of the congregation. Good social skills; friendly and outgoing personality. KY/MO: Brian Mitchell who has preached for the last 11 years at Hopkinsville has accepted the work at Jackson Church of Christ in Missouri effective January 2015. This means that the Hopkinsville Church of Christ in Hopkinsville, Ky. will be looking for a new minister. Hopkinsville is a city of about 33,000 in western Kentucky, about 1 Hr. north of Nashville. They have about 130 in attendance and 2 elders and 4 deacons. The elders have placed no limitations on their search--such as age or experience--and are thus willing to consider all resumes.
