Nevertheless
You question his intentions. You don’t like his style. You wish his approach was more loving. You’d prefer he stand more strongly on an issue that you think is important. You think he is too loud. You’re not too certain about his integrity. You think he dresses to flashy. You don’t believe “a preacher should do X.” He runs in circles you think are dangerous and speaks places you would not. You think sometimes he makes mountains out of molehills. You believe he lacks tact. You think he isn’t clear enough. You think he sounds fake.
How should you handle it? What would Jesus do? Or maybe in this case - What would Paul do?
“Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. The latter do it out of love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former proclaim Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice” (Philippians 1:15-18 ESV).
