In Every Place

The driveway: It may be a concrete drive. It may be asphalt. It might be gravel. And it could be a dirt road. 

The front door: Might be ornate and craved. Could be metal. Or even glass. Possibly 

The seating: Pews, chairs, or even on the floor.

The audience: They might be young or could be old. They may be country farmers or city slickers. They might be highly degreed or could be unschooled.

The singing: It may be old school songs, Stamps Baxter, newer songs, or a mixture. They may be projected on a screen, from a songbook, or sung from memory. 

The preacher: He might be loud and boisterous or could be quiet and introverted. He might run text all over the Bible or he may be expository. 

There are many differences from congregation to congregation. But there is always, the cup and the plate. The bread and the wine. 

Everywhere in every place that the church that is of and is the Lord's. 

“…whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes” 1 Corinthians 11:26, c.f. 1 Timothy 2:8.
