God Wants to Meet You Where You Are
Sometimes we give and give to those around us until we feel like we have nothing left…Our neighbor needs meals, so we take them. Our friends need prayers, so we pray for them. Our kids need…well, everything…so we give it. Our husband needs encouragement, so we speak encouragement into him. Someone in our church body needs us, and we are there.
Our days fill up so fast, that before you know it, have you given God the time He deserves? And if you have, did you feel like you had anything to give Him? Or, are you discouraged because you feel like you can’t go to Him empty-handed? Let me encourage you by saying, He wants to meet you there. God sees all that you are doing for others. He sees that it’s easy to become tired or weary. He sees how your time can slip away, even when you are trying to not let it. He wants to meet you right where you are. He doesn’t need you to show up with loads to give Him. He just wants you to show up. He wants you to tell Him how you are feeling and let Him pour into you. He wants to give you a peace that surpasses all understanding. He wants to give you joy that makes no sense. He wants to fill you!
God sees the amazing work that you are doing. He is so grateful for your love for Him and His church. He looks at you, and He is proud of you. Let that sink in….He is proud of you! You don’t have to come to Him full of energy and 3hrs to sit with Him. (But if you can, then that’s great!) If you have 5min between drop-offs and phone calls…give it to God. Go to Him and tell Him, “I want you to fill my time.” While you are making breakfast pray for God to be near. Before you meet with a member at your church, take 5 minutes and pray and sit with God. Ask Him to fill you and meet you and the person you are meeting with right where you are.
Let Him lead everything you do each day. Don’t let the reason you don’t go to Him be because you feel you have nothing to give. Or because you don’t have an hour of quiet with your Bible and journal laid out in front of you. Don’t get me wrong, I cling to my morning quiet time with the Lord before my kids wake up. I feel like giving God my first moments is what I need each day. Realistically, it doesn’t happen every single day. I can’t let that stop me from giving God anything.
Call out to Him. He wants to meet you where you are.
Psalm 27:4, 7-8
”One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.“
”Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! You have said, “Seek my face.” My heart says to you, “Your face, Lord, do I seek.””
