A Prayer for Those Who Preach Jesus

Dear Father in Heaven,

Each time Your preachers stand before Your people to speak Your Word, we understand that a sacred trust has been committed to us. For many of these men of Yours, this is the highlight of each week. Everything we have done throughout the week, is, at least in part, preparing us for this moment.

During this season, these men will have an opportunity to speak to the hearts of those who desperately need Jesus. Some who have refused to hear about the Savior because of the business of life throughout the year, will listen now. Dear God, help us to present Jesus, in truth and love to those who are hurting, angry, and uncertain because of life. Help us, not only to tell them about Jesus, but help us to show them Jesus, by the way we live. May hearts and lives be forever changed by the message of the Lamb of God. And, Father, help those of us who preach Jesus, to again be transformed by the One who offers peace that passes all understanding.
