Two prayers
I am sure most of you know Jeff’s sweet wife Laura was buried today. So, today we post two prayers, thank you for understanding and for your love for our family.
God of all comfort:
Today more than most we are thankful for this vehicle called ministry where we live out lives and our faith. In it we experience our biggest hurts and challenges but within it we also get to experience Family. In our darkest days we are blessed with a large, loving, Family in Thee who cares us through those days in ways both beautiful and unexpected. It provides us motive and joy to see our families with love and to see, perhaps more clearly, what the love of a wife, and the love of our children can be. In it we have a band a brothers who stand with us and love us. As we stand before this Your People tomorrow, may we do so with humility, grace, conviction, passion, and love.
In Jesus Name,
AMEN

Brothers, today my bother, Jeff, buries his wife Laura. They lived a life of grace, beauty, service, and love together for nearly 40 years.
Father:
Today I praise You for blessing my life and so many lives who will pray this prayer with me for a brother like Jeff. Thank You for the example he is to me. Thank You for the faith that dwells in him.Thank You for his tremendous humility. Thank You for how You have used their lives to bless Your Family. Father, thank You for the example of a faithful husband he has been to Laura. Thank You for Laura’s life. I’m thankful for the joy she brought into every interaction. Thank You for her sense of humor and the grace she exhibited even in sickness. Thank You for the example she was of what a preacher’s wife can be. Thank You for how she opened her home to so many. Thank you for how she showed care for others. I’m thankful God, that you graced so many of us with this lovely couple. Be with Jeff, Jeremy, Amanda and Boo in the days ahead. May the love they had for Laura be of comfort to them, may the memories of a life well lived bring them joy, may the many who love them be a solace, but most of all may, You, the God of all comfort, comfort them. As they grieve, help them to heal. Sustain them in their pain and may, in the darkest day through faith see the joy that awaits.
In Jesus Name,
AMEN
