Help Us Remember

Holy Father in Heaven,

We pray today for your preachers around the world who will proclaim Your Word on Sunday. Help us, Dear God, to remember. May we first remember who You are as we preach. Help us never forget that the Word we proclaim is Your Word. May we remember that the power is not in us, but in Your Word, and that You will see to it that Your Word accomplishes Your intended purpose.

Help us to remember that the people to whom we preach are Your people, and above all help us remember that we are Your spokesmen. May we remember that You are our Creator, the One who sustains us, the One who redeems us, the One who purifies us, and the One to whom we will give an account of every word we speak. Help us remember to give You the glory for every good thing.
