A Prayer for Awareness

Holy Father, As men of God stand to proclaim Your matchless Word on this Sunday, we pray that they will first be aware of Your presence. We pray that they will be aware of Your presence in their lives, in the lives of the people who hear them, and in the life of Your Church. We pray that they will be aware of the fact that it is Your Word that is life-changing and life-giving. We pray that those of us who preach will be aware of the reality that we are Your instruments to herald Your Message of Good News. We pray, dear God, that Your men will be aware of the fact that they have prepared themselves for this moment and that You will not allow Your Word to go unheeded. Father, bless these men with awareness of the needs of the people they speak to. Bless them with an awareness of Your grace, mercy, forgiveness, and love. Help us all to be aware that this is Your work and that You will bless Your work. In the Name of Jesus we Pray, Amen.
