GA: GA: The Oak Hill Church of Christ in Rome GA is currently searching for a youth and family minister. The congregation has approximately 225 members and a youth group of about 25. AL: The Madison church is currently looking to hire a new youth minister to work alongside current youth minister, Bryan LeMasters. Here is a video that tells you a little more about who they are and who they are looking for. OK: The church in Allen is looking for a preacher. Mark Legg is retiring at age 80 and he thinks it is time for the congregation to have a younger man. The congregation is small and has limited resources.  They do not have elders but do have a very nice 3-bed room, 3 bath brick house.  Allen, Oklahoma is a small rural town of very good people. Contact Mark for more information:  mlegg@aol.com.

 

TN: The self-scoop to Brent Clark. He has accepted the part time position at the Lobelville congregation. We wish him the very best with those good people. One of our elders at Spring Meadows has been doing a lot of their fill-in work.

 

TX: The 4-year old Westpark congregation needs an evangelistic preacher looking for “an amazing opportunity” to grow a congregation. They are located in the VERY rapidly growing Fort Bend near Houston. 750,000 people live there: Nearly 200,000 people have moved into our community since 2010. The church has just bought land in western Fort Bend County (Fulshear) where most of the new construction is happening.  There is no other congregation within a 10-mile radius. They have elders and deacons. They add: “We can offer a godly man and his family all the spiritual and financial support needed to make this work a lifetime love. Ideal candidates must have proper training, enjoy teaching God’s word, be family-oriented and able to connect with all demographics, and have 5 years of preaching experience.  Above all, he must be faithful in word and deed to our Lord.”

TN/NH: A second self-scoop this week to Mark Casella. He has started the role of Youth and Family Minister at the Northeast Church in Kingsport, TN. He adds that the Church of Christ in Manchester, NH might be interested in hiring a part time associate minister. 

 

AL: The Rainbow church in Gadsden is looking for Youth Minister. Their pay is full-time and they also supply a house. Their attendance runs 225-250 and you can learn more about them at: http://www.rainbowchurchofchrist.org/.

 

FL: Scott Aubuchont has been hired as the new youth minister at the Northwest Tampa Church of Christ.  

 

OH/AL: Terry Townsend is leaving Curry after a good work there and moving to take work in New Concord, Ohio. Curry, in Walker County, is looking for a new preacher. 


TX: The Highland Village church in Austin is looking for a preacher.  Rick Laing, their long time preacher, is retiring.  The congregation is well-established (50+ years old), in a very nice part of town, with an active youth group.  Contact info at www.hvchurchofchrist.com - Scoop to Dave Rogers. 

AL: MOBILE INNER CITY CHURCH OF CHRIST 

Is praying for a full-time evangelist. This one is a little different and the post is long but we hope some will consider this good work. We are sharing much of their own verbiage.  “MICCC is a congregation dedicated to the Lord’s work by bringing the 

Gospel to the inner city of Mobile, AL. Our small but growing congregation consists of a mix of very mature disciples as well as many brand new ones. We offer the energetic evangelist opportunities to realize a vision of developing a dynamic ministry for underserved communities in collaboration with other congregations in and around the Mobile metro area.  Working side-by-side with our trustees, our evangelist is responsible for establishing the long and short-term goals of the congregation and for managing the labor resources that lead to successful achievement of those goals. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Preparing and delivering weekly sermons 
  • Overseeing Christian education
  • Preparing and conducting midweek Bible studies
  • Developing and organizing ministries
  • Providing spiritual counseling
  • Organizing summer campaigns
  • Recruiting and supervising summer interns
  • Organizing benevolence
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with area elderships
  • Raising funds to support the ministry 

Successful candidates will

  • Have experience that suggests the ability to carry out the evangelist’s key responsibilities 
  • Be well grounded in apostolic doctrine as set forth in the New 

Testament

  • Have demonstrated leadership experience
  • Have the ability to work closely with impoverished populations across cultures 
  • Be family oriented
  • Be a self-starter with a vision for the inner city mission
