Thanks to all who wrote and sent notes on internships. We heard from about 15 of you. I feel certain that once this is posted we will hear from 3-5 more who didn’t get in. We will add those to this list as we get them. If you want your internship added, send it HERE.

TN: The Rivergate Church, a congregation in the north Nashville area, is seeking a Youth minister intern for the 2020 summer to plan activities and teach Bible class as well as help with our annual VBS. KY: The Seven Oaks Church is seeking a youth intern to work under the supervision and along side the youth minister this summer. Weeks of service are negotiable but are desired to be around 12 weeks from May 18th - August 9th. The candidate should be able to take direction, plan and carry forth events, lead worship, teach class, and develop relationships with the kids. TN: The Burns Church is looking for a summer ministry intern. The intern will primarily focus on middle schoolers this summer, helping get a program for them off the ground. They hope to provide a broad range of experiences for the intern - not just youth, but exposure to preaching, visiting, and the day to day work of ministry. He doesn't necessarily need to be a Bible major - but a person with a passion for Jesus and His ministry is a must. Burns is about 45 minutes west of Nashville in a small town. AL: Florence Boulevard Church is looking for a Ministry Intern. Working alongside Cody Peery (Youth Minister) and Austin Johnson (Preaching Minister) for the summer months in many areas of ministry. The internship requires weekly Bible studies with the ministry team, involvement in all Youth Group happenings, and a devotion to maturing in the Lord. TN: Mountain Creek Church is looking for an intern. Contact is Kyle Shrum, kyleshrum66@gmail.com, (423) 834-1301. DATES: May 24 - July 30, 2020 (10 weeks) Mountain Creek’s mission statement is “Following Jesus. Teaching the Gospel.” Mountain Creek is located roughly 10 minutes from downtown Chattanooga. They have about 150 people with 25 teenagers in the youth ministry (6th-12th grade).  Salary of $3,000.00 for the summer ($300.00/week). Expenses for youth events will be paid for, and extra money will be given on major events and mission trips. EXPECTATIONS: ● Keep regular office hours. (begin at 9:00am) ● Meet with Kyle for daily meeting. ● Complete daily tasks. Be at all youth events (come early and stay late). ● Eat on Sundays with selected families. ● Meal with targeted teens on Thursdays. Help in the planning and execution of youth group activities.

TN: The Goodlettsville Church hires 2 interns (one guy and one girl) every summer for 8 weeks, May 24-July19th 2020. They will be on the campus of Freed Hardeman on January 28th conducting interviews. Interview time slots can be signed up for by contacting the Bible office. TX: The Saint Jo Church is looking for an intern to help oversee with VBS, two summer camps, and a mission trip. The candidate would also be able to assist in leading congregational singing as well as teach class and occasionally preach if needed. NC: The Cary Church is looking for a Minister Intern. This internship is for a Bible, ministry, or counseling major who desires to be a minister upon graduating from college. The congregation in Cary began meeting in 1970 with just 10 families and has since grown to an average attendance of 400. Responsibilities: The minister intern will work under the eldership and minister. Interns will be considered full, participating members of the church staff and will be assigned specific areas of responsibility. The intern is responsible for teaching a weekly Bible class as well as preaching twice a month (one Sunday morning and one Sunday night). The intern will also attend weekly elder’s meetings to gain experience as well as elders, deacons, and preachers meetings. The minister internship is for 8 weeks during the months of June and July. The internship will begin Sunday, May 31, 2020 and will end on Sunday, July 26, 2020. The goal for the intern is to connect with the congregation and gain everyday experience that will help when the intern begins their first full-time work. Because spiritual growth often takes place in the context of a relationship, it is important that the intern spend a lot of time building relationships with the congregation. The intern must maintain daily office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Daily schedule is subject to change depending on need (i.e. hospital visits, counseling, emergency’s etc.). Normal days off will be Friday and Saturday when functions are not scheduled for those days. Sundays may not be taken off during this period of time. Due to the short nature of this position, time off is limited. Emergency situations will be dealt with on an individual basis. The Intern will receive a salary of $435 a week, with no provisions for paid time off or vacations other than recognized holidays. All Ministry related expenses will be paid. Housing will be provided.  Desirable Skills and Qualities: Willingness to seek God’s direction in ministry. A love for God and a desire to be used by Him. Willingness to think creatively. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work well with people of all ages. Ability to take direction and listen. Openness to work as a part of a team. An understanding of computers and Microsoft Word and PowerPoint. This internship is for a male college student majoring in Bible, ministry, or counseling who will begin their junior or senior year and who desires to be a full-time, located minister once they graduate from college. The applicant must submit a resume and please include a recent photo of yourself and two letters of recommendation. Please also include a recent sermon either in DVD format, digital or web link. The applicant will also complete a doctrinal questionnaire with Scripture references. The doctrinal questionnaire must be typed. Applicants will be contacted for a phone/web interview. We anticipate final decisions and commitment by the end of March. All applicants will be reviewed by the elders and minister. MO: the Foristell Church is looking for a Summer Youth or Preaching Intern. The internship will be for 8 to 10 weeks. The ideal candidate is enrolled in college, university, or a preaching school and seeking a Bible degree. Your goal should be to work in ministry, with the youth, in mission work, church planting, or any other ministry within the church. You will be working under the direction of the elders at Foristell and work closely with the preacher to gain skills helpful towards full-time ministry. They seek to help you gain practical ministry organizational skills, develop your writing, speaking and preaching skills, to help you learn the basics of ministry within different work areas in the church, to develop visitation skills, and to help you work with the youth. They are only seeking those who are mature enough to be a spiritual mentor to others, especially the youth, and who can be a Christ-like example to the congregation. This is a paid internship of $500 per week. Housing is provided with a local family. Foristell is a congregation of about 85 members with 3 shepherds. They are in the  Western St Louis area. KY/OH: The Summit Church of Christ would like to invite Juniors and Seniors to apply for an exciting Summer Internship to work with their youth and participate in hands-on ministry with the pulpit minister from South Africa, Neville Buchanan. Summit Church of Christ is located in Northern Kentucky, about 10 miles from downtown Cincinnati, OH. They are close to the Creation Museum, the Ark Encounter, MLB’s Cincinnati Reds, and many other places of interest. The congregation has an average weekly attendance of 170 members.They have 3 elders, and 9 deacons. The youth group consists of grades 6th -12th with an average of 25 students, but they encourage whole family participation, so most of the youth activities have all ages and many parents attending. There are some activities such as church camp that are already planned, and there are ideas of things they would like the youth to do which the intern will plan and help facilitate. The intern will be regularly mentored by the pulpit minister during office hours, and then guided by the elder and deacon who works with the youth group. Responsibilities: These are expected responsibilities, but are subject to change:1.) Teach Sunday and/or Wednesday youth Bible classes. 2.) Attend the week of Fort Hill church camp with the youth group. 3.) Preach a minimum of 2 times for PM services. 4.) Maintain a standard work schedule (office hours to be mutually determined). 5.) Write articles for the weekly bulletin. 6.) Participate in our “Summit Servants Week” planning and execution. 7.) Coordinate weekly youth devotionals outside of regular church hours, and in families’ homes. 8.) Other duties as assigned. IL: The Northwest Church is seeking a summer ministry intern. The intern's primary focus would be to win teens in grades 6-12 to Christ, connect them with other Christians, and to help them grow in their faith. You would serve, lead, teach, mentor, and encourage teens in their walk with God in the context of service projects, activities, classes, and just hanging out. The ministry intern will be supervised by the ministers. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Teaching or co-teaching one or two Bible classes per week.

  • Preparation for and leadership in Vacation Bible School.

  • Coordinating and leading service opportunities.

  • Planning and leading outreach efforts, retreats, devotionals, etc.

  • Bible studies, prayer and informal counseling as needed.

Other opportunities for ministry will likely include:

  • Leading in worship (singing, prayer, etc.)

  • Preaching on occasion

  • Working in our food pantry, nursing home ministry, etc.

  • Hospital visitation

Competitive salary, expenses, housing, and meals will be provided. MN: The Richfield Church of Christ in Richfield, Minnesota is looking for a summer Preaching Intern. The intern will have opportunities to preach, teach, participate in Bible studies, and be mentored in the work of ministry. VA: The Southside Church of Christ in Winchester looking for a Summer Youth Intern.  This is a 10 week internship.  It will involve working with the entire youth program and not just the High School youth group.  The summer intern will be responsible for helping coordinate Vacation Bible School, Youth devotionals, summer activities and Bible classes in our Sunday School Program.  The youth intern will have the ability to present at least one sermon during the Sunday AM service as well as potential for presenting devotionals during our Sunday PM Service and Wednesday evening services. Southside is located in the Upper Shenandoah Valley, approximately 75 miles from Washington D.C. and 100 miles from Baltimore MD.  If you love the outdoors, mountains, hiking and History this is definitely a place you would love.

TX: The Northside Church of Christ is seeling a Summer Practical Ministry Intern They want a young man who is a presently enrolled student. This will be a 10-week internship (Approx. dates: Sunday, May 31st - Friday, August 7th). Pay is $300 per week (paid every two weeks for 10 weeks; gross: $3,000). The intention is for the intern to be engaged in the full scope of church- life ministry. Approximately 65% of youth-related work with the Youth Minister and 35% working with the Minister in other ministry activities. Housing is provided in a church member’s home.
