TN: The North Jackson Church of Christ is looking to fill its youth minister position. This position is designed to be a ministry of spiritual support for, especially, the parents and grandparents of youth. The youth group consists of approximately 60-70 youth representing 30-40 families. They expect the youth minister to be capable of teaching solid, biblical lessons. He is to have a passion for helping maturing young people to develop faith in God, his Son, and the authority of God's Word. He plans and organizes activities with the primary objective of character and spiritual development, and creates opportunities for the youth to demonstrate concern for each other and the lost. He is expected to be dependable, timely, follows directions, and communicates with parents, youth, deacons, and elders. The ideal candidate is married or engaged, has a degree in Bible/ministry (or equivalent), 3-5 years experience as a youth minister. He and his family exemplify respect for elders and all character traits of spiritually developed Christians. AL: The Palisades Church of Christ is looking to build a mission team to bring new life to the congregation. They are looking to hire 3-4 individuals or families local to the Birmingham metropolitan area to take on part-time ministries in the Church family. Some specific areas that they will be considering hiring for are Youth, Children, College, Outreach/Discipleship, and Technology. While they have some specific areas of need, they also want to match capable Christians to their gifts. Let them know your vision and see how it can gel them! They will consider hiring individuals as well as couples who wish to split the workload of a part-time ministry. Palisades is a diverse Church of 125 members located central to the Birmingham area. TN: Roy Sharp resigned from his work at Henderson today. He will be working with the church in Linden. 

MO/MS: Our second self-scoop this week goes to Adam Carlson. He is leaving the Midwest congregation in Ferguson for he and his wife to work as house parents at Pine Vale Children’s Home Corinth. Ferguson is in north St. Louis county about 15-20 minutes from downtown St. Louis with easy access to medical care and all other necessities and/or entertainment. Ferguson has a population of about 21,000. Midwest is doctrinally sound and wants the simple truth proclaimed with 25-30  members (numbers are down post COVID) with a two-story 2 bedroom 1  1/2 bathroom house, the church pays utilities. WV: The 36th Street church in Vienna is looking for an associate minister. The church will pay $30,000 per year salary plus health insurance. They will also provide a parsonage. The Youth Minister collaborates with the Youth Deacons to help every 6th through 12th grade student takes steps toward deeper spiritual maturity in Christ. The Youth Minister should love the youth where they are –encourage the youth in developing their relationship to God through Jesus -provide them with opportunities for nurture and growth -challenge them to respond to God’s call to serve in their communities and world. Job Summary: The Youth Minister’s primary responsibility will be to develop and lead the church’s HYG ministry toward 6th-12th grade students. The goal of this HYG ministry is to contribute to God’s work of developing teenagers into life-long, active disciples of Christ who are equipped: (1) to seek an ever-deepening relationship with God in accordance with God’s word, (2) to serve as active contributors to the life and ministry of the church, and (3) to participate in the mission of God in an increasingly secular age. To do this, the Youth Minister should be prepared to set an example through his own life of discipleship, to cultivate relationships with youth group members and their families, to teach engaging biblical lessons of depth and relevance, and to provide leadership to the church’s ministry through oversight of youth activities, instruction, trips, and events. Secondarily, the Youth Minister will also be expected to support the overall goals and mission of the church alongside the church ministry staff and eldership. The Youth Minister will be expected to utilize and develop his gifts in service of the church in appropriate ways (e.g., by teaching, preaching, leading worship, planning events, etc., as appropriate). Duties and Responsibilities: Teaching. The Youth Minister will be the person primarily responsible for the church’s teaching ministry for the youth group. This will include: Regularly preparing and delivering engaging, age-appropriate biblical lessons, devotionals, worship experiences, etc. Coordinating the plans for other teachers to share the teaching responsibilities. Equipping parents to understand what is being taught in Bible class and providing, whenever possible, resources for how to deepen faith in the home throughout the week. Emphasis should be given to preparing our youth group members to progress toward a committed and lasting faith, expressed in baptism. John is retiring from his work with the Antioch church in Snead. He is leaving on the best of terms and the elders have asked his help in publicizing the opening. Since COVID, Antioch's attendance is running in the 50-60 range. Hopefully, it will return to about 70 or so. They are  located halfway between Birmingham and Huntsville in the northeastern corner of Blount County. The church has met in its present location since 1906. FL: The Saint Augustine church of Christ 2900 Lewis Speedway Saint Augustine, FL 32084 is seeking a minister to work alongside the congregation. They desire to grow closer to Christ, to be more individually active, to grow closer as a spiritual family, and to understand the Bible and it’s instruction more deeply. They are, therefore, “seeking a minister who enjoys and is skilled at digging and struggling through both the basics and the complex aspects of Biblical text and can help us understand and apply God’s word. Visitation – 10% • They feel that it is important that this role is involved as a supplement and often a companion to the eldership in visiting the members of the congregation. This is beneficial both for developing close relationships and understanding the spiritual needs that may need education, attention and growth. Miscellaneous – 5% • Assistance with various fellowship opportunities for the congregation • From time to time there may be the need to conduct weddings or funerals. Additional compensation may be available for this work depending on the circumstances.
