MO: The Matthews Church of Christ is seeking a full time minister. They are a small congregation of 20-30 people who love God and work well together. TX: The Church of Christ in Champions (Houston) is hiring a full-time minister who will provide “a balanced ministry of preaching, teaching, visiting, and assisting the elders in implementing our vision of the church as we grow to full potential in membership and spiritual growth in Christ.” They are a congregation of 465 members with new facilities and room to grow. The ideal candidate should be a married middle-aged man with at least 10 years of experience as a pulpit minister. He should have an evangelistic heart to share the gospel with the lost. AL: The Walnut Street church Greenville is looking for a youth minister. The position's main focus will be strengthening and growing the youth group, other duties will be working in the church’s food room, jail ministry, and filling in for the pulpit minister. Applicants must be willing to work with and learn from the pulpit minister, work with the deacon serving the youth, and with the elders. TN: At the end of this year Steve Reeder will be retiring from his preaching duties at Sycamore church in Cookeville and Scott Jefcoat will take over the preaching. Scott will also continue to work with the SOC Campus Ministry for Tennessee Tech students. Sycamore also recently hired Elijah Anderson to be their youth minister and Kevin Daughrity moved back into an Involvement and Family Ministry role.
TN: The Double Springs Church of Christ, where Scott Jefcoat was part-time preaching since December, will be looking to hire someone to fill that role. Double Springs is a congregation of around 175 members just outside the Cookeville city limits. They have 4 elders, 5 deacons, a part-time youth minister and part-time associate minister. KY: The Scottsville church is looking to hire a preacher TR Wells served there for nearly four years and is leaving on good terms. FL: Camping on the Gulf is a year round campground located in Destin on the beach. They are looking for an experienced teacher to conduct Sunday morning worship services in the recreation center each week for their campers. This is an opportunity for personal evangelism. You must own your on camper, fifth wheel, or RV and be willing to work at the campground a minimum of 10 hours a week, which pays for your campsite. The Alachua church has served their community for over 100 years. Current attendance runs around 50, but there is hope and opportunity for growth. “The church is seeking a minister who preaches God’s word in its purity and simplicity and a man who is willing to get involved in the community as a means of reaching the lost.” They do have a house. AL: J. Wayne Kilpatrick is retiring after 60 years in full-time ministry. He was the pulpit minister for the Homewood Church in Birmingham, AL, from 1973 to 2000, during which time the church experienced great growth, going from 250 members to 1500 members. After leaving Homewood, Kilpatrick spent the next four years as an evangelist, conducting meetings in many states, and serving two churches in Alabama as interim minister. In 2004, he began working as pulpit minister for the Heritage Place congregation in Irondale, AL, a suburb of Birmingham, beginning with 60 members and, pre-covid, the membership had grown to over 300. This is a wonderful church and we are happy to announce that Gipson Baucum has agreed to become our new minister. Wayne would like to do fill-in preaching for churches needing someone to preach when their minister is away. He is also available for seminars and revival preaching.
