TN: The Gladeville congregation is a historic congregation in their small town. It is located between Mount Juliet and Lebanon just about ½ mile off I-840, This is a part-time preaching position. The congregation currently has an attendance of around 60-65. Gladeville is a growing and thriving community with many new neighborhoods being built in the area. The elders would like a man who is doctrinally sound in the faith and they really have no age preference. A married man with or without children is most desired. While personalities certainly vary a friendly out-going personality would fit this elderly country congregation well.
The position would be considered part time, and they would prefer that the preacher live within a 30 miles distance from the building. Currently the congregation is meeting on Sunday morning only, but with the hiring of a new person they wish to add their Sunday evening service back in April, and Wednesday Evening Bible Study before summer is over. The minister would be asked to write a weekly article for the bulletin and possibly help with the publishing the bulletin on site. The congregation is currently installing a new projector and would prefer for the new minister to use Power Point Presentations to assist the hard of hearing. Due to the fact it is a part time position and the new minister may have other employment, they would not expect a great deal of visitation. This would be at the minister’s discretion to do what he could and what he deemed convenient and appropriate. Even phone calls or cards may be sufficient. Covid has certainly changed the way the congregation views visitation.Currently the congregation has an excellent Sunday adult Bible class teacher, but the minister may be ask to fill in and of course teach a Wednesday class when that service resumes. Salary would be around $1800-2000 a month depending on the agreed upon work load. Currently Darrell Blankenship is serving as their interim minister and is assisting in the preacher search. The elders prefer you email Darrell a resume at dfblankenship54@gmail.com He will pass this information on to the elders. While there is no rush to fill the position with Darrell being available, they would love to do so by mid to late spring if possible.

MS: The Christian Student Center @ Mississippi Delta Community College is looking for a young couple to come an take over the campus ministry at the Christian Student Center. The present servant couple there is retiring. MDCC is a two year college in the middle of the Mississippi delta in the little town of Moorhead. The college has an enrollment of just over 2000 students. Many of the students are commuters and online students, but about 500 live in the dorms. The Christian Student Center was established in 1995 by Madolyn and her late husband, Gene Gibson. They faced many struggles in the beginning, but built the campus ministry into a wonderful outreach program. Many students have been lead to Christ. The center is in Madolyn’s family home. The home has a small apartment in it for the campus minister and his family to live. Other rooms in the house serve as meeting areas that can be used by the couple and serve as activity rooms for the student center. It is located across the street from the college campus and student union, so it is in a great location. The center is under the leadership of a board composed of six members. There are no churches of Christ in Moorhead to support the ministry. The Delta area churches do support the work financially and are willing to help in any way they can. The campus minister needs to have a friendly, outgoing personality so he can meet students on campus. He needs to be a self started with an evangelistic heart. Since very few of the students are members of the church of Christ, the campus minister will have to find those on campus each week that are interested in learning about Christ. He is expected to have Bible studies any time on any day with interested students to introduce them to Christ. On Wednesday night they have an open Bible study for students. They have light refreshments and fellowship time after. They have from 1-30 students and have had as many as 60 plus. Presently the salary is $30,000 per year plus living quarters with all utilities and expenses for the CSC paid. If additional funds are needed, he is expected to help in raising those funds. With a MA degree, there are opportunities to teach at the college. The school is out of session from May to August and a month in December to January. Vacation and time off should be taken during that time. Contact: Eddie and Madolyn Lewis 901 461-0181 or lewis7946@gmail.com
