Description: The White Bluff congregation is looking for a recent graduate of one of our preaching schools or Christian colleges who is willing to work with their youth group under the oversight of the eldership. Candidates for consideration must be married or engaged to be married soon. The current youth minister is moving soon to be closer to his family. The youth group numbers about 30 with ages ranging from 12-18. They have numerous parents who volunteer time for group activities. They are seeking “a man after God’s own heart” who loves God, Scripture, and people. Additionally, we are looking for one who is willing to serve under the guidance of elders so that he can grow in his leadership skills so that one day he will be ready for service as a preacher and congregational leader. They have 12 deacons, and 3 on ministerial staff.
Responsibilities and information:
Preaching:
Preach once or twice each month on Sunday as assigned by the elders.
Preach at other times when other preachers at the White Bluff church may not be available.
Teaching
Teach teen classes.
Coordinate Wednesday night 5 minute devotions with other men in the church.
Present Wednesday night devotional lessons himself.
Other teaching opportunities may occur throughout the year (Bible Camp, VBS, etc.).
Youth Responsibilities
Plan and hold regular activities (educational and social) for youth.
Plan service projects (helping elderly, cleanup days at Camp Leatherwood, etc.)
Plan and participate in some worship & fellowship activities with youth of area churches.

Visiting
Make regular visits to see families of youth and other members.
Make visits with preachers or elders as needed.
Misc
Write bulletin articles that teach or publicize church/youth activities.
Assist with other church events (VBS, Fellowship Activities, camp, etc.)
Communicate with elders about planned activities for the youth program (Evangelism University, CYC in Gatlinburg, Sunday night devotionals, etc.).
Keep somewhat of regular office schedule for Bible study, meetings with church staff, office secretaries, writing, office administrative work, etc.
Participate in worship (e.g. prayer, Lord’s Supper, scripture reading, song leading, etc.)
Meet with elders and/or elders & deacons regularly for communication purposes.
Salary commensurate with ability and experience.
One weekday off per week (except Wednesdays) and two weeks of vacation to be coordinated with elders and office staff.
Paid expenses to lectureship, workshop, or seminar approved by elders.
