About Cedar Springs: The church has 2 elders and 2 deacons with a Sunday morning worship attendance of 45-55. Wednesday night Bible class is approximately 30 to 35. Our attendance has declined over the last 5 years due to people moving out of the area, the pandemic, high school students going off to college, the passing of members, and one family moving to another nearby new congregation to take on a leadership position. “While all this loss has been tough on Cedar Springs, we have remained strong and faithful. In the last 2 years, we have been blessed to have over 10 new members added to our membership. We are a congregation filled with people who love God and each other. We have many dedicated teachers who serve tirelessly both our young kids and in our adult classes. We use Apologetics Press material for ages 3 through middle school. Our congregation is heavily involved with the Lads to Leaders program. They are currently working on a skit for our VBS in August. We host a Wednesday night summer series that runs from July to September each year. Our ladies have a weekly Bible class, an annual Ladies Retreat in the spring, and a Ladies Day in the fall. Our men just organized and held their first men's retreat in March and plan to have another next year. For the past 5 years, our congregation has used books written by the Jenkins Institute. Each member receives a book at the new year and is asked to read it daily and study their Bible daily. Our current book is "Meeting God's People." We are also involved with House to House Heart to Heart.
Qualifications and Expectations: The Cedar Springs Pulpit Minister must be an avid Bible student with excellent communication and relationship-building skills. The future preacher must be skilled and experienced at group teaching as well as one-on-one Bible study. The minister must be a team player that works well under the oversight of the Elders, also working with the deacons and other members of
the congregation. Previous preaching experience required. Theology or related degree preferred, but not
required. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
• Visit members, shut-ins, nursing homes, sick/discouraged members to provide encouragement, and visitors on a weekly basis
• He must be prepared to speak on special subjects as needed/requested.
• Minister must be available at all times for counsel of members who may have special needs.
• Position also will require set office hours.
• Preach and teach Bible classes
