Description: The Southside Church of Christ has existed for over 50 years. The congregation has a good mix of young and older members. It is located south of Grand Rapids metro with a growing community of over 200,000 people (the second largest city in Michigan).

The congregation is actively engaged in the work of the Lord. Evangelistic efforts that have been done in the past year are as follows: House to House mailings to over 2,000 households quarterly, New Movers programs through HTH (offer welcome bags to new movers around the church building), school supplies give aways to the school-aged kids in the community, and an active letter writing campaign to contacts made in the community. They had 7 baptisms in 2023 and are now engaged in mentoring activities to help these new converts grow in their faith. There are also numerous members who teach Bible classes, and several of the men are capable of preaching as well.

- Preach Sunday morning & evening (2 Tim 4: 2-5, 1 Tim 4: 6-7 ... 10-11)

- Teach at least one Bible class per week (1 Tim 4:11, 2 Tim 2: 24-26, Titus 2:1, 2 Tim 2:2)

- Work with the church leadership to develop and implement strategies to maximize outreach and spiritual growth of the church (Hag 2:9, Luke 19:10, Luke 14:23)

The ideal candidate for Southside would be a married man with preaching experience (or a new graduate from a recognized preaching school), who also takes an active role in personal evangelism. Key characteristics that the congregation is looking for include doctrinal soundness, enthusiasm, motivation, and good communication skills.
