About: They believe they have a great youth group at present and are looking for the right man to take them from where they are to greater things. Over the past year the youth group has almost doubled. This is the result of hard work in the community by the kids, their parents and the present youth and family minister. He is moving on to other challenges, and they need someone to come in and build on the current foundation and move forward. This area (a few miles north of Dallas, TX) is in one of the fastest growing corridors in Texas maybe in America. There is tremendous potential for the glory of God and they trust He would use someone to great things in His kingdom. There is a GREAT opportunity for God’s man right here is this community.
Job Description: Workweek time expectations: This position assumes an average work week of 40 hours, with the understanding that ministry is not a 9 to 5 desk job. The youth minister is charged with knowing what he needs to get done weekly and managing his own work week towards that end. Paid vacation: Two weeks for the first three years. Three weeks after that. Other absences: Our youth minister is encouraged to be a part of week-long events such as camp and or similar weeks away. These weeks are paid but not counted as vacation. Other benefits: If our ministers want to further their education, we can negotiate a tuition stipend. Anticipated involvement with the various segments of the church family: There is no segment of the church population for which the youth minister bears complete responsibility. The staff and leaders and families serve together in all areas. Likewise, there is no segment of our population to which the youth minister has no responsibility. He is first and foremost a Christian servant called to help minister to all the people in the congregation. We ask him to focus his attention primarily on the teens, kids, and their families. Qualifications: Bachelors degree or in pursuit of one 0-2 years experience A deep desire to build a youth group based upon a strong faith in God.
