His Will
The horrific events that took place in Paris late last week were stark reminders that we live in a world filled with uncertainty. Perhaps in your own life there have been events, circumstances, and situations that are causing uncertainty.
At times we all have questions about our lives, what we are doing and where we are headed. In a world of uncertainty is there anything about which we can be certain? Can we make any decisions with confidence? We would suggest that there are some things in our life as ministers about which we can be certain.
If we preached His Word in a spirit of love yesterday we can be certain that we were doing His Will (2 Timothy 4:1-2). As we involve ourselves in the lives of others, as we serve, and as we minister this week, we can be certain that we are doing His Will.
As we study His Word and bathe our sermon preparation in prayer this week, we can be certain we are doing His Will. (2 Timothy 2:15) As we live this week in a way that glorifies Him, we can be certain that we are doing His Will (Colossians 3:17).
As we involve ourselves, in what many consider to be mundane (attending meetings, spending time with our children, encouraging our wife), we can be certain that we are doing His Will. As we walk in the light as He is in the light (1 John 1:7) and as we follow in His steps (1 Peter 2:21), we can be certain that we are doing His Will.
How blessed we are to be able, in a world filled with uncertainty, to be able to live with certainty that we are doing His Will. May God help us to never give up, but to spend every day of our life doing His Will.
