Many of us did our best on Sunday to honor the mothers among us while at the same time honoring our Father in Heaven. Some don’t think it is appropriate for us to honor Mother’s or Father’s on the day that our nation has chosen to recognize them. Maybe we could at least agree to allow it to be a matter of opinion that gives each of us the freedom to do it or choose not to.
We do know that the Holy Spirit commands us to give honor to whom honor is due and to rejoice with those who rejoice. With those two Scriptures in mind, we would like to take a few minutes to honor you, our preaching brothers for everything you do.
We honor you for preaching the Truth in love.
We honor you because you do not shrink back from declaring the whole counsel of God.
We honor you for preaching in season and out of season.
We honor you for your diligence that allows you to be approved to God, a workman who does not need to be ashamed, and who correctly handles the Word of Truth.
We honor you because you love the people who listen to you proclaim God’s Word.
We honor you because you practice what you preach.
We honor you because you love your wife and your family.
We honor you for doing everything within your power to fulfill your ministry.
We honor you for your faithfulness to God.
We honor you because through your preaching, your ministry, and in your life, you are making God’s Name known to everyone around you.
We honor you because you are living a life that glorifies your Maker.
Our prayer is that you will know how valuable you are to our Lord and that He honors you for what you do for His cause.
