In the Battle

In the heat of the battle, you must have your head on a swivel. Enemies, bullets, snipers they can get you at any moment. And even when the bullets aren’t flying and you are in your camp an ambush can happen at any moment. And, of course, there’s “friendly fire.”

We do not overstate the case. This warfare we are in is not one we necessarily bring but if you have chosen ministry it is one you must engage. And, let us assure you, you will get hit.

It may be the direct assault that causes you to have to move unexpectedly. It may be the sustained affronts that come at your schedule, your peace, your finances, or a hundred other fronts. It might be the sniper who just doesn’t value those in ministry or has a personal ax to grind - then throw. It may be a messenger of satan who would buffet your personal relationship with the Master. It may be the ambush from a fellow-soldier who might believe they are doing you a favor. Regardless, you will get hit.

Don’t fall. As long as you are faithful in your calling, true to the Word, your presence is needed in this battle. Don’t quit, the way will not be easy and the enemy will hit you hardest when you are injured but ever remember to “fight the good fight.” And never forget that “He that is in you is greater than he that is in the world.” God is on our side, the victory is His, so the victory is yours.

Don’t Quit…
